Vehicle for the versatile actress Diana Dors, showing off her talents as comedian, sketch artist, impersonator, singer and dancer.

It's the story of a young married man name Lionel who is swamped by colossal debts and whose wife is soon to give birth. At his wits' end, he decides one day to commit an irreparable act and kidnaps his millionnaire neighbors' 1-year-old baby. He demands a small ransom of €60,000. But Lionel is no criminal and all his attempts at exchanging his hostage for money fail. Meanwhile, he becomes increasingly attached to the baby. When he at last manages to get the money, he must come to terms with releasing his hostage.

After a divorce, beautiful Brit Diana Smythe decides to begin a new life by moving from London to New York and starting a new career as a fashion coordinator at a Fifth Avenue department store. Living in her brother's empty apartment (to which many young ladies still have keys), Diana learns a new American way of life, assisted by friendly neighbor Holly, copywriter Howard, window decorator Marshall and new pal Jeff.

Diana! is American singer Diana Ross' first solo TV special, which aired on ABC on April 18, 1971.
